This page explains what personal information American Home Inspections, Inc. collects through this website, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how long we keep it.

1. Who we are

This website was built and is maintained for us by WebCentersUSA.

2. Information you give us

When you send the contact form on this site, we collect what you type into it: your name, your email address, your phone number and your message.

We collect this only because you chose to send it. You do not need an account to use this site, and we do not buy contact information from anyone else.

3. Information collected automatically

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, and where they arrived from. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives your IP address, your approximate location (usually city level), your browser and device type, and the pages you view.

We also record that a contact form was successfully sent, as a count. That record contains no name, email address, phone number or message text — only that a submission happened, so we can tell which pages bring us enquiries.

Google's own handling of this is described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can stop Google Analytics collecting your visit with Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

Everything else this page needs — its typefaces, images, styles and scripts — is served from this website itself, so no other company sees your visit because of them.

Our web host also keeps standard server access logs, which include IP addresses and requested pages. These are ordinary hosting records used for security and troubleshooting.

4. What we do with it

We use what you send to answer your enquiry, schedule and carry out the home inspection you ask about, and keep a record of our correspondence. We use the analytics data to improve the website.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to send you marketing you did not ask for.

5. Who else sees it

A contact form submission reaches three places:

  1. Our own mailbox — the message is emailed to us at info@ahomeinspections.co.
  2. WebCentersUSA — a blind copy of every submission is sent to submissions@webcentersusa.com. WebCentersUSA builds and maintains this website, and keeps this copy as an independent record so that a message which fails to reach our mailbox can still be recovered and answered. They use it for nothing else and share it with nobody.
  3. This website's server — each submission is also written to a log file on the server, described in section 6.

Beyond that, we disclose personal information only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or someone's safety.

6. How long we keep it

  • Submission log on the server — 365 days. Entries older than a year are deleted automatically.
  • Emails in our mailbox, and the WebCentersUSA copy — kept while they are useful for the business relationship, then deleted.
  • Google Analytics — retained under the period set in our Analytics property. That data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

Inspection reports and the records of work we carry out for you are business records kept separately from this website, under our normal retention practice.

7. Your choices

You can ask us to send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Email info@ahomeinspections.co and we will respond.

Deleting the log entry and the emailed copies removes our record of your enquiry, so we may not be able to continue a conversation already in progress. We will say so if that applies.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking cookies stops Google Analytics recognising your visit; the rest of the site works normally.

8. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, email info@ahomeinspections.co and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how we collect or use personal information, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top.
